Safe AI Through Runtime Computing

The Human Mission Is the Foundation of Physical and Digital Safety, Security, Control and Continuance

People, businesses, organizations and nations define the missions they need fulfilled. This report explains how Runtime Computing and Triadic Causal Programming make those continuing human-defined missions computable as physical and digital reality changes.

Safety belongs to the continuing human mission.

The Persistent Requester computes what remains required. Independent Actors compute identified possible realizations. The Independent Governor makes a separate admissibility determination for each proposal under human-defined authority and current causal reality. The Requester and Governor remain distinct from the Actor population.

Only admitted consequential actions cross the enforced Commit Boundary. A bound capability executes the admitted action. Observed consequences return through the live causal Event Fabric to the same persistent mission, enabling recomputation of fulfillment, adaptation, recovery and the remaining required effect.

The mission economy

The report develops a strategic proposition: the customer mission becomes the unit of value, and one reusable Runtime Computing foundation supports independently defined missions across products, services, enterprises and national infrastructure. Models support mission expression and design-time compilation; distinct Requester and Governor computations carry the continuing runtime mission.

AI expands what machines can do. Mission Autonomy expands what humanity can accomplish with them.
