DECISION-ZONE | AI AUTONOMY — PUBLIC EXPLAINER | 7 PAGES
AI Automated the GPS. Decision-Zone Automated the Driver.
Why today’s AI is only half of autonomy, and the half Decision-Zone has built.
A plain-language Decision-Zone explainer using navigation and driver analogies to distinguish an AI Actor’s capability from continuous mission computation. It explains why human-defined purpose, independent admissibility before commitment and observed consequence return matter as conditions change.

ACTUAL FIRST PAGE · COMPLETE 7-PAGE PDFA capable Actor is not the whole mission.
The explainer uses a familiar distinction: navigation can suggest a turn, while a driver must judge whether that turn still serves the destination under changed conditions. It extends the analogy to a surgeon and an air-traffic controller to make the continuing human computation visible.
Human purpose. Independent mission computation.
Humans define the mission, authority and boundaries. The Persistent Requester computes what remains required; Independent Actors propose possibilities; the Independent Governor determines whether a specific proposal is admissible now. The Requester and Governor are not Actors.
Only admitted actions cross the Commit Boundary. A bound capability executes the admitted action, and observed consequences return through the live causal Event Fabric to the same persistent mission, which computes what remains required.
Decision-Zone presents this mission-level computation as complementary to model alignment, guardrails, monitoring and cybersecurity—not a reason to discard them.
The driver, surgery and control-tower examples are explanatory analogies, not claims of deployed vehicle, medical or aircraft integration.
